Ibrahim regrets PAF Chief's announcement of operation against Taliban
ISLAMABAD: Member of Taliban-nominated committee, Professor Ibrahim has expressed immense grief over the announcement of an offensive against Taliban, by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief, Tahir Rafique Butt. He urged the Government and Taliban to continue ceasefire, and said that Shariah cannot be implemented with suicide bombings – ARY News reports.
According to details, Professor Ibrahim said that efforts are ongoing for negotiations between Government and Taliban and an answer by Taliban is awaited for the time and place of talks. He expressed his wishes for a meeting with the military leadership, so that the negotiations process could be led forth in a right direction.
Ibrahim said that Air Chief Marshal, Tahir Rafique Butt's statement of an offensive against Taliban is regrettable, military's involvement in the negotiations process will be highly useful.
The member of Taliban committee told that Shariah cannot be implemented through suicide bombings, both military personnel and Taliban members are considered to be martyred.
The coordinator of Taliban committee, Molana Yousuf Shah told that an extension in the Taliban committee is desired, whereas Taliban leaders have been informed about Government's reservations and demands.
Professor Ibrahim said that real talks have not yet been initiated and it is not possible until detailed demands by Taliban shuraa are not presented.
