IG KP fears terrorist attacks in tribal areas after Zarb-e-Azb

PESHAWAR: Inspector General Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has said it is feared that militants might carry out terrorist activities in tribal areas after the operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan concludes, ARY News reported Friday.

Speaking to media in Abbottabad, IG said the KP police had been non-political in its performance. We have complete support from the provincial government, he added.

He said there was no place for corrupt officers in the KP police. He said police had rendered numerous sacrifices in fight against terrorism.

“Police are completely capable of coping with any terrorism plot.”He also took notice of abduction of seven-year-old girl from Hawalian on media reports and sought report of the incident. He ordered police to arrest the culprits at the earliest.
