IHC concludes hearing on blasphemous content

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday concluded the hearing over the blasphemous content on social media, ARY News reported.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui said that the bench will announce a short order on the case today while a detailed ruling will be announced later after the JIT report.

In his remarks, Justice Siddiqui said that all institutions are working over the matter except a few. He said it is a matter of faith for all. Almighty has saved Pakistan from a havoc.

Federal Secretary of Interior, Director General FIA, I.G. Police Islamabad, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) were present in the court hearing today.

Justice Siddiqui also said that steps should be taken to ensure that no one misuses the blasphemy law.

Responding to this, Attorney General of Pakistan said, “Everybody has been on the same page in this connection.”

Justice Siddiqui said the court will not interfere in the investigations.
