ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Thursday issued a notice to chairman Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), secretary Establishment Division and others in a case regarding absence of Islamabad quota in FPSC recruitments, ARY News reported.

He cited a newspaper advertisement that was published on June 28, 2018 in which vacancies of 294 medical officers were announced, but it didn’t mention vacancy for Islamabad.

The petitioner said 20 percent quota should be fixed for the Capital City.

He mentioned a previous court declaring memorandum for including Islamabad quota in Punjab as void.

The adjourned the hearing for 10 days.

Last year, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court had directed the secretary Establishment Division, chairman FPSC, secretary CADD and secretary Cabinet Division to appear before the court in person on April 23, while hearing a petition against denial of quota to the residents of federal capital in appointments through the FPSC.

The bench was hearing an application of Syeda Farina who in her petition said Article 27 related to quota system had been suspended in 2013.
