ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the government to appoint the Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC) within 15 days, ARY News reports,
The case of Chairman HEC was heard by Justice Shaukat Aziz.
Secretary Education appeared before the court today. The bench inquired that why a Chairman of the Higher Education Commission was not appointed since nine months. Education Secretary replied that the names have been sent to the federal government is not appointing anyone.
The court ordered the federal government to appoint the Chairman in 15 days and remarked that it should be done on merit rather than on consent.
