ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court on Wednesday ordered the Interior Ministry to include the names of all those people who upload blasphemous content on social media websites in the Exit Control List, ARY News reported.

Justice Shaukat Aziz heard a case regarding posting of blasphemous content on social media today.

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan did not appear in the hearing of the case despite being summoned by the court.

Justice Aziz, in his remarks, said that the state is asleep and there can be no bigger terrorism than this.`

The judge remarked that the name of all those people who upload blasphemous material on social media websites should be included in the Exit Control List at once.

He asked that what steps has the state taken against the people involved in such practice. He said, “This is an issue of the whole Muslim Ummah.”

Justice Shaukat Aziz observed that certain elements want to turn Pakistan into a “profane country”. He said that the state institutions should present a solution of the problem to the courts.

“A joint investigation team should be formed if its necessary,” the judge said.
