IHC restrains Pemra from any order against ARY

TOP NEWS

The IHC approved ARY’s plea for hearing. In an application, ARY counsel contended that Pemra is repeatedly subjecting ARY News to personal vendetta.

The application said Pemra is no constitutional authority without its chairman. Pemra Ordinance stipulates no place for acting chairman in the authority, added the plea.

The Supreme Court had already declared the incumbency of acting Pemra chairman as illegal and stopped Pervez Rathore from operating as organisation’s acting chief.

It was further said in an application that Pemra is not working independently as it served illegal notices to ARY News.
