IHC seeks explanation from DG IB, Fed. over out-of-turn promotions

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the Director General (DG) of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Federation pertaining to recent promotions in the bureau and sought an explanation within 15 days – ARY News reports.

According to details, Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi heard a petition filed by the Deputy Director IB, Muhammad Arif Zulqarnain against the promotions of IB officials.

The counsel of the petitioner, Kashif Advocate told the court that the DG IB is getting retired from his service on April 2 and is promoting favorite officials out of turn, prior to his retirement.

He stated that these promotions are illegal keeping in view the rules and regulations.

The IHC after listening to the arguments, issued notices to the DG IB and the Federation and adjourned the hearing for 15 days.
