IHC seeks explanation on Zaka's removal as Chairman PCB
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing a notice against the removal of Zaka Ashraf as the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and placement of Najam Sethi instead, has sought an explanation from all the people concerned with the issue – ARY News reports.
Former cricketer, Ahmed Nawaz and PCB Governing Board member, Mirza Ahmed had filed a petition in the IHC against the removal of Zaka Ashraf from PCB's top slot.
Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi heard the case, during which the counsel of the petitioners, Abdur Razzaq took the stance that the President of Pakistan is the Patron in Chief of the PCB and the Prime Minister has amended the manifesto of the board unconstitutionally.
He added that Zaka Ashraf was removed from his post without any prior notice.
The IHC while issuing notices to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Najam Sethi, Inter-Provincial Coordination Committee, Shakeel Sheikh, Yousuf Khokhar, Shehryar Khan and Iqbal Qasim and directed them to soon file an explanation in the court.
