Illegitimate blue passports to be revoked: Rasheed
ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed said on Monday that all unauthorised blue passports will be revoked, ARY News reported.
Briefing the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Interior presided over by Senator Talha Mahmood, the minister revealed that ‘girl friends and property dealers were issued passports in the past’.
DG Passports Safdar Mahmood told it was being considered to receive passports’ fee through ATM cards. He added that discussion was also underway to issue e-passports.
To a query by Senator Shahi Syed, DG passports said MQM chief Altaf Hussain had not furnished a request for his passport.
