Talking to media persons in London, Khan said he formed an offshore firm on the advice of his accountant to evade taxes during his cricket playing days, for buying a flat in London.

Imran Khan told reporters, he was not a British national and was already paying 35 per cent tax on his income there, so he bought London flat through an offshore firm to evade further taxes.

Imran Khan went on to say that he has disclosed all his assets and had sold his flat in London in 2003, remitting all the money to Pakistan.

He said that it is a crime to send money abroad without declaring it and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has the responsibility to probe it for it also involves ‘public wealth’.

After the PTI chief’s disclosure in London, Mariam Nawaz in a tweet taunted Khan as the ‘pioneer’ of the offshore companies.
