ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Monday appreciated the Chief Justice of Pakistan for taking notice of the conditions of hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing as press conference, the PTI chairman said that the CJP is undertaking tasks which should be done by a regulatory body. He said the provision of health, education, and justice is among the foremost responsibilities of the government.

He said that apart from education, the provision of healthcare was the biggest problem faced by the people, and vowed their government will completely overhaul the health system.

He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faced a crumbling health infrastructure, and the reforms which they have brought were not initiated since the last forty years.  He said they still face certain issues which he would like to present before the CJP.

Imran Khan said that he wants the whole country towards the health sector in KP, and that all hospitals should be up to world-class standards such as the Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

However, he said there are serious obstacles in bringing reforms in public hospitals. Doctors who were dismissed from Lady Reading Hospital received a stay order from the court, and the Young Doctors Association protest over it. He hoped the CJP will also look towards these issues.

He said the there are doctors like Dr. Burki who returned from US, and is serving the nation without remuneration. Public hospitals do not have the resources like privates one, and doctors who perform well are rewarded or else dismissed, and this is success behind Shaukat Khanum.

He said over 70 percent people have health cards in KP which provides healthcare facilities worth up to Rs550,000. He said that nations are formed not by building roads but spending on welfare of the people, and he should delivered the message that real
