ISLAMABAD: Questioning the moral authority of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to stay in office, PTI chairman Imran Khan claims that Sadiq connived with the prime minister to gag his voice, ARY News reported.

Speaking to media here, Khan underlined that it was Opposition’s utmost responsibility to highlight government’s irregularities and bad practices.

He reiterated that a person whose assets were kept abroad should not be allowed to become prime minister of the country.

The PTI chief hit out at Sadiq for forwarding reference against him at the ECP, and skipping the one against prime minister.

He said the replies submitted by children of Nawaz Sharif in the court differ from the ones given by the PM in the parliament.

Khan was of the view that current government was running its affairs in a dictatorial manner.

Regarding the disqualification against him in the election commission, Khan said he had submitted his reply before the ECP in the first week of December.

The NA speaker last year had forwarded a reference to the ECP seeking disqualification of Khan from the legislature.

The reference against Imran Khan’s off-shore companies, his flats outside Pakistan, income and Bani Gala land was submitted by PML-N lawmakers including Daniyal Aziz, Talal Chaudhry and others to the ECP.
