Addressing the participants of the PTI sit-in camp on Tuesday, Imran Khan demanded the government to bring forth the killers of Zahra Shahid Hussain and punish them regardless of their political affiliation, adding, “I also demand the political party with which these culprits were affiliated, to clear such elements from its ranks”.
He slammed PM Nawaz Sharif for increasing the power tariff by 80 percent in just one year.
The PTI chairman said that there are 4 lac people involved in power pilferage but no action was taken against them, rather the government resorted to Rs 70 billion over-billing for compensating the losses.
He said that electricity rates were heightened upon IMF’s directives to the government.
Khan stressed on the need of local body (LB) elections in the country, claiming that PTI will delegate powers to grass-root level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the people will witness the difference of local bodies in KP and other provinces.
He said that a successful western democracy is based on LB system and questioned the government why didn’t it conduct LB elections for the past 7 years.
