Nawaz can make any compromise to protect illegally obtained wealth: Imran

CHISHTIAN: Pointing towards across the border business of the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said on Sunday Nawaz could make any compromise to protect his illegally obtained wealth, ARY News reported.

“He would even shake hand with Indian PM Narendra Modi for personal gains,” he said while addressing a mammoth rally in Chishtian.

He termed the deposed PM a Mir Jaffer and Mir Sadiq who wished to devastate the judiciary and military in a bid to save the Rs300 billion that he looted from this country.

He said a nifty change was witnessed in the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) following the Faizabad Interchange sit-in protest as the ruling party observed unprecedented Milad this year. He said the PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali also wore green turban on this occasion.

The PTI chief said Nawaz Sharif had been fooling about with his development slogans. He said his government in the province did not allow any political interference in the police department.

“The provincial government recruits police personnel sheer on the basis of merit,” he said.

To Nawaz Sharif’s recent public speech in Abbottabad asking publicly about ‘the new KP’, the PTI chief said he wanted Nawaz to look at the KP police to conceive the new KP.

“Nawaz Sharif should have known about new KP after addressing a public speech without the bulletproof glasses,” he added while referring to enhanced law and order situation.

Applauding the police efforts for timely action, Imran Khan said the opposition parties made a hue and cry over Dera Ismail Khan case for political scoring.

“As the case surfaced, I immediately called the Inspector General of KP Police on the matter,” Khan underlined.

Moreover, he said the KP police did not take dictations unlike the police departments in other parts of the country.

Taking a swipe at PML-N legislators, he said they voted in favour of a person who had been disqualified by the apex court and involved in looting the national exchequer.

The PTI chief was referring to National Assembly session that voted against Nawaz-specific amendment to election law, seeking to restore the bar on a disqualified person from holding party office.

Imran said once Pakistan was developmentally thriving the fastest in the region, however corruption had plagued all its progress.

He said accumulating money while in power was tantamount to corruption. Nawaz had one factory prior to embarking upon political career which had multiplied up to 30 factories now, he said.

“It is very unfortunate that people like Nawaz and former president Asif Zardari came into power. When a prime minister does corruption, it has trickle down effect and makes the entire system corrupt,” he said.
