Imran Khan admits innocent killings obstructed way of peace
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan has admitted that the killings of innocent people at the hands of militants have obstructed the way of restoration of peace in state, whilst he reiterated that talks are the right way of resolving issues – ARY News reports.
Addressing the meeting of PTI's core committee, Imran Khan strongly condemned the killing of 23 Frontier Constabulary (FC) men held in captivity by Taliban and praised the sacrifices of Police, Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
He added that for holding meaningful negotiations, ceasefire is the most necessary step to be taken.
The PTI Chief said that the killings of innocent citizens cannot be neglected and urged Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to announce immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
He also mentioned that few elements among the extremists tend to sabotage the peace process, whereas he also praised Government's efforts of holding talks within the constitutional boundaries.
