Imran Khan questions PM Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that it’s highly deplorable that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could not speak a single word in response to American President Donald Trump’s speech in which he completely disregarded issues relating Pakistan and Indian Occupied Kashmir, ARY News reported.
“Pakistan has served American interests for decades but its president did not mention Pakistan’s name for once”, Khan lamented while talking to media persons here.
Coming down hard on Nawaz Sharif, the PTI chief queried the motive of the premier’s official visit to Saudi Arabia where he could not speak a single word.
“The prime minister should have responded to Donald Trump’s speech in which he termed Palestinian elected candidates as terrorists and neglected the Kashmir territorial dispute with India”, Khan said.
He said Trump remembered India but not Kashmir dispute during his speech [with regard to Pakistan]. “Pakistan has remained an ally of America for years in war against terrorism”, he added.
“If Nawaz Sharif has to remain silent, then he should not have made this official visit”, Khan opined.
Social Media Crackdown:
Imran Khan also said that government should not suppress the freedom of expression by arresting social media activists. “The crackdown is solely undemocratic move”, the PTI chief said.
He cautioned the government over the misuse of cyber crimes laws to harass or intimidate the party activists.
