ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is dragging its feet to probe ‘abundant’ and ‘convincing’ evidence of money laundering against Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif.

He expressed these sentiments during a meeting with PTI leader Usman Dar at his residence in Bani Gala here.

The PTI chief said it is beyond his understanding as why the anti-graft body is dragging its feet to launch an investigation, “despite undeniable proofs against Asif”.

On the occasion, he directed Dar to lead a delegation and hold a meeting with the chairman of NAB Javed Iqbal over the matter.

Khan said all the evidences including banking transactions against Asif and his wife would be provided to the NAB. “We hope the NAB will soon initiate corruption proceedings against Khawaja Asif,” he added.

He emphasized greater accountability against all those who have been plundering the national treasury, as what he said, the entire nation looks to NAB for justice after the Supreme Court.

The party meeting was held ahead of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) proceedings against Khawaja Asf in Iqama (foreign work permit) case.

The court is scheduled to hear the case on March 1 (tomorrow).
