Imran Khan says complete money trail ready to be submitted in SC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday announced that he has received complete money trail regarding his cricketing income and sponsorship earnings and the documents are ready to be submitted to court in a case pertaining to eligibility to contest elections, ARY News reported.

In a series of tweets, Imran Khan posted all the documents with details about his income from county cricket, Kerry Packer series, sponsorship earning details and the banking transactions.

“I challenge NS (Nawaz Sharif) and his apologists, or any other pol ldr (political leader) , to show a similar money trail and financial transparency,” wrote Imran Khan after posting all the documents in tweets.

Minutes before PTI leader Jahangir Tareen and Imran Khan tweeted the documents, party spokesman Fawad Chaudhry announced in an ARY News show that the party chief has received complete money trail record.

On July 13, the SC had directed the PTI chairman to submit financial details for his London flat by July 25.

In his reply to the court on July 22, the PTI chief denied allegations of his complicity in money laundering to buy the flat and admitted that some record of his earnings from cricket couldn’t be produced since county cricket clubs do not keep the record older than 20 years.

A three-judge Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, will on July 25 resume hearing the petition of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi, which seeks the disqualification of Mr Khan and PTI secretary general Jahangir Tareen for non-disclosure of assets, existence of offshore companies and allegations that the party received foreign funding.
