KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said that Karachi will freely vote for its favourite candidates for the the first time in history, ARY News reported.
“In the past, anyone who dared to leave Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and join PTI, was either kidnapped or killed and people were afraid to vote for any other party but MQM, but the days of (their) terror are gone and now Karachi will vote freely and God willing, will vote for PTI,” said Imran Khan while speaking to workers and supporters in city’s Qayyumabad area.
He maintained that for last 30 years, MQM and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) jointly ruled Sindh but still, the people of the capital of the province, are standing in lines for a basic necessity as water.
The PTI chief, who is visiting the city as a part of his election campaign, said that it is time people elect honest and hardworking people to make the country’s financial hub a better city.
It is pertinent to note here that Imran Khan is contesting polls from Karachi’s NA-243 constituency where he will lock horns with MQM’s Ali Raza Abidi, PSP’s Muzammil Qureshi and PPP’s Syeda Shehla Raza.
