ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Naeem-ul-Haq has rejected the impression that party chief Imran Khan appreciated him for slapping PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz during a TV show.

Haq said that Imran Khan never appreciated the slap, but commended him for countering the abusive and false allegations by Daniyal Aziz. He said that Imran Khan doesn’t encourage the use of violence.

“Contrary to what some media is projecting IK never appreciated the slap but commended me for countering the abusive and false onslaught of Danial. IK never encourages use of violence anywhere anytime,” he said in a tweet.

In a latest video clip circulating on social media, Haq said that party chief Imran Khan and other party supporters lauded his act of slapping federal minister Daniyal Aziz during a TV show.

“This person (Aziz) attacked Imran Khan’s character ─ and he kept doing it, and then lying, and when he called me a thief, slapping him was a natural response,” Haq revealed in the video clip.

“Imran Khan commended my act, saying that I did the right thing because he [Aziz] has been spitting venom for a long time.”

Haq further said that all PTI supporters have also lauded this action of mine.

Earlier this week, Haque lost his temperament and slapped Daniyal Aziz after trading barbs with him during a TV talk show.

The video clip that is doing the rounds on social media showed the PTI leader slapping Aziz, saying: “How dare you [Aziz] call me a thief, you should be ashamed of yourself.”

Aziz appeared taken aback after the incident. Haq came under fire for his act from various political leaders and commentators.

Senior PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haq has been previously involved in a physical altercation in 2011, when he threw a glass at PPP’s Jameel Soomro for allegedly verbal abuse against him during a TV show.
