PM Khan urged to take notice of water shortage in Badin

BADIN: People of Badin district on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of acute water shortage in the area, ARY News reported.

As per details, Matli, Tando Bago, Talhar  and other areas of the district are facing severe water shortage from last six month.

“We are deprived of potable drinking and irrigation water”, the citizens complained.

In order to divert attention of the Sindh government to this important issue, the citizens have protested, observed sit-ins and shutter down strikes, but the provincial government had turned a blind eye to the people who were forced to drink highly contaminated water and the farmers’ plight despite their continuous protests.

The people of aforesaid areas are compelled to migrate from their ancestral homes.

“The water supply has been suspended over political differences”, residents alleged.

Appealing the premier, the affected people have demanded him to take immediate notice of the mater as the matter can turn into a huge human tragedy.

The irrigation officials are allegedly involved in stealing water whereas over a million population living in tail-end and coastal areas was suffering.

The coastal area of Indus delta is facing acute shortage of water due to which people living in the areas specially Badin and Thatta districts are facing many hurdles.
