PM Imran Khan to visit Tharparkar today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Tharparkar on a day-long visit on Friday (today), ARY News reported.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be accompanied by the premier during the visit.

As per details, PM Imran will address a public meeting in Chachro and would also review the Thar Coal project.

The arrangements for the public gathering have been finalised in this regard.

The prime minister would announce a special package for Tharparkar during his day-long visit, said sources.

Sources further said, former Sindh chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim will call on the prime minister and likely to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the occasion.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan, on October 21, last year, had presented a report pertaining to the worsening state of drought stricken Tharparker where malnutrition has claimed lives of a number of children.

Through a comprehensive report, PM Khan had apprised of the terrible circumstances inside the Sindh’s district of Tharparkar.

Premier Khan had expressed his serious concerns over the matter and directed relevant authorities to prepare a relief package for the famine-ridden population of Thar.
