Imran vows to develop Karachi if elected to power

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan will pass a busy day in Karachi on Wednesday (today), to visit and address public meetings at Korangi, Qayyumabad, Defence, Keamari and other localities of the metropolis.

Imran has been in Karachi for second day on his party’s campaign trail.

The PTI chief on Wednesday termed Karachi’s development key to the progress of the country.

Speaking at a gathering of business community, he highlighed his party’s plans for development of the city.

“Pakistan cannot progress if Karachi isn’t managed well,” he said while lamenting the lack of basic facilities in the city.

Imran said his party, if elected to power, would introduce an effective local government system in Karachi and take care of the city’s growing water needs by building desalination plants and power projects.

Imran is scheduled to tour different areas of the metropolis today as part of his ongoing campaign for the upcoming general election.

Imran Khan will inaugurate election office of the PTI in Lines Area in NA-245 constituency. He will also visit Golimar Chowrangi in NA-255 constituency and the areas of NA-253.

The PTI chief will also open the party’s election offices in Saudabad and Keamari.

He will also address a corner meeting of the party’s candidate Imran Ismail for PS-111 constituency in Clifton.
