ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Saturday lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government for glorifying a convict by putting deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s picture on a public health facility card.

Imran Khan, who has been the most vocal against alleged involvement of the ruling party in corruption, called this a shameful act.

” In no democracy in the world would this be acceptable: A disqualified money launderer’s face on a govt health card!” he said in a tweet.

“Apart from using taxpayer money to project criminals, Sharif mafia destroying moral values of our youth: As if nothing wrong with corruption/money laundering,” he wrote.

A five-judge Supreme Court bench disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last year in a unanimous verdict in the Panamagate case, thus cutting short his third stint in power.

Responding to Imran’s criticism, Maryam Nawaz said, “Earlier, he used to dread Nawaz Sharif and now he is scared of his image also. Only fearing, crying and whining is written in your fate.”

This should be noted that the health card is issued under Prime Minister’s National Health Program which “ensures that the identified under-privileged citizens across the country get access to their entitled medical health care in a swift and dignified manner without any financial obligations.”
