In Pictures: How Karachi is preparing for 70th Independence Day
KARACHI: With the 70th Independence Day of Pakistan round the corner, all-pervading national fervor is gripping the city. Preparations to celebrate the occasion are in full swing in the metropolis like other parts of the country.
As the celebratory festival is approaching closer, people throng markets and roadside stalls set up all over the city to buy national flags, badges, pins, frocks, T-shirts, wrist bands, bangles, caps and hats, balloons.
Though small and big stalls have been set up along the main thoroughfares, streets and intersections of the city, loaded with Independence Day decorations, the Paper Market located on Hasan Ali Effendi Road, which otherwise is famous place to buy paper, bags and other decoration items, wears festive look as crowds from across the city throng the market to buy Independence Day related items.
