India must not misconstrue Pakistan’s offer for talks: Abdul Basit

NEW DELHI: Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Thursday said that Pakistan was ready to hold dialogues with India over lingering issues but clarified that Pakistan’s desire for talks should not be misconstrued as its weakness. 

He was addressing a flag-hoisting ceremony in New Delhi to mark Pakistan Day.

“Pakistan wants to negotiate over all issues including Kashmir dispute,” Pakistan envoy said while emphasising that peaceful talks were in interest of both countries.

He further said that Pakistan’s stance over the issues was under international laws. He underlined that the dream of Pakistan was fulfilled under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam as well as constant struggle for independent country.
