India putting regional security at stake, says Lodhi

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi has said that Indian military is putting the regional security at stake with its actions, ARY News reported.

Speaking in the UN General Assembly, Pakistan envoy said that a new wave of freedom has emerged in the occupied Kashmir due to the atrocities of Indian forces in the territory.

The envoy said, “The regional security has been at risk due to the actions of Indian military.”

Lodhi said that India is violating human rights repeatedly. She urged the international community to investigate the brutalities being carried out in the region.

“United Nations should fulfill its promise of granting Kashmiris their right to self-determination,” Lodhi added.

Pakistan’s UN representative stated that it is the right of the people of Kashmir to seek moral and political support of the international community.

“The Kashmir dispute should be resolved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” she added.
