India seal semi-final spot after Bangladesh defeat

TOP NEWS

DHAKA: India won their third consecutive match in the World T20, this time defeating the hosts – Bangladesh – by 8 wickets, thus sealing their spot in the semi-final, ARY News reported Friday.

The shaky Bangladesh team was already crumbling from the start and it lost its first wicket for 20 runs while batting first. Their wickets continue to fall against the quality Indian bowling with regular intervals. They managed to reach 138, a score too low for the seasoned Indian batting line-up.

Indian leg spinner Amit Mishra bagged three wickets for 24 in his four overs, followed by Ashwin two for 15 in his four overs. The Indian bowling completely outplayed the Bangladesh batters.

In second innings, India, however lost its dashing opener Shikhar Dhawan early, but Virat Kohli took control and carried forward the innings with his master batting display, scoring unbeaten 57 off 50 balls.
