A case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against her at a local police station on Wednesday based on the directive a lower court, a police sub inspector said.
He said that further investigations in the case are on.
According to reports, an Indore-based film producer, Mohammad Ali had petitioned the court alleging that Himani, 54, had entered into an agreement with him to act in his two of his movies, on March 22, 2011, the police sub inspector said, adding that the actress had taken Rs 5 lakh as advance from Ali.
In his plea, Ali stated that Himani had inflicted a huge financial loss on him by abandoning acting in his movies midway, the police sub-inspector said.
