ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says ceasefire violations by the Indian forces on the Line of Control and Working Boundary are being responded befittingly.

The minister said India’s aggression on Line of Control was posing serious threat to regional peace.

He said Indian provocations against Pakistan reflected New Delhi’s frustration out of failure in addressing the domestic issues as well as the positive developments taking place in Pakistan.

Mr. Asif said Pakistan’s successes against terrorism, implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the indigenous freedom movement spearheaded by the local youth in Occupied Kashmir were matters of worry for India.

He said India could not withdraw or violate the Indus Waters Treaty because the agreement has been protected with international guarantees.
