Indian cricketer Amit Mishra arrested in assault case
The Indian bowler, who was is also a part of ongoing Ind-South Africa series, was released on bail. The police questioned him for three hours before arresting him.
The Indian legspinner was accused of physically assaulting a woman friend last month when he was in Bengaluru during a training camp.
In a complaint registered with the police on 27th September, the woman has alleged that she was in Mishra’s room on 25th September when he walked in.
The two had a fight during which Mishra allegedly assaulted her by pressing her neck and twisting her wrists. The police have been investigating the case and have issued a notice to Mishra asking him to give his statements.
