Indian movies exhibition: LHC summons Censor Board Chairman
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned the Chairman Pakistan Censor Board on 2nd December, over contempt of court petition filed by ARY News senior anchor Mubashir Lucman, ARY News reports on Wednesday.
The case was heard by Justice Khalid Mehmood.
Amir Ali Shah, lawyer representing Mubashir Lucman, informed the court that a stay order was issued on 19th November against the illegal exhibition of Indian films in local cinemas but censor board did not comply the court orders and released Indian movies “Gori Teri Pyaar Main” and “Bullet Raja”.
He added that the release of illegal films comes under the court contempt and the court should take an action against the Chairman of Censor board.
LHC issued notice to the censor board and remarked that how the films can be exhibited when the court has issued orders against it.
Censor board official have been summoned on 2nd December to file their answers in the court.
