Indian PM wishes Nawaz Sharif ahead of his heart surgery

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended best wishes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his open-heart surgery.

Indian Prime Minister Modi sent his wishes through Twitter on Saturday and also wished Prime Minister Nawaz for a speedy recovery.

“My best wishes to PM Nawaz Sharif Sahab for his open heart surgery on Tuesday. And for his speedy recovery & good health,” tweeted Narendra Modi.


Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who has been in London since May 22 for his medical check-up, will undergo an open-heart surgery on Tuesday.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and prime minister’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz also confirmed the news on Friday, emphasizing that the prime minister has to go for a heart surgery on the advice of his doctors, after which he will be staying in the hospital for at least a week.

“The prime minister will travel after one week, on doctor’s permission,” Defence Minister Khawaja Asif added.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had also prayed for prime minister’s health and speedy recovery.
