Indian villagers get excited as ‘some’ object fall from sky – scientists called to site and then something hilarious happened!
GURUGRAM: People at an Indian village got a ‘stinky surprise’ after some object fell from the sky, causing excitement as well as confusion among the villagers, but later they discovered it wasn’t something they expected.
As a crowd gathered around the object, which had apparently landed in a field with a great “thud”, a few pondered if the icy white stone weighing around 8 to 10 kilograms with a “transparent surface” could perhaps be a meteorite or a rare celestial gem, the Times of India reported.
However, all their doubts were put to rest after a team scientists, who were rushed to the site by the administration as word about the incident spread, confirmed that the ‘ethereal’ object was in fact human waste that was probably thrown out of a passing airplane.
The incident was reported merely 10 days after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) directed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to issue circulars to all airlines reasserting its December 20, 2016 order which stated that airlines would have to pay fine of Rs. 50,000 if human waste was discarded from their flights mid-air.
In fact, as per a TOI report, some of the villagers had even carried a few pieces of the rock back to their homes and had kept it in refrigerators, perhaps in the hope that it turns out to be a precious object.
Human waste that is ejected from the aircrafts mid-air is called ‘blue ice’, in aviation parlance, as its usually a mixture of the waste and liquid disinfectants of the toilet. By the time it reaches the ground, it gets transformed into ‘ice’ due to the low temperatures that exists at that height.
Speaking to Indian newspaper, local villager said he noticed the icy stone falling from the sky on Saturday at 8 am. He told the Indian Express, “It came out of the sky, sounding exactly like an airplane. Before I could ascertain what it was, it landed in my field.”
The village elder was then informed and he subsequently told the cops about the object.
Later the officials of India Meteorological Department (IMD) and even informed the National Disaster Management Authority were called to the site. As soon as the scientists reached the spot, they revealed the truth about the object, leaving villagers disappointed.
