Interior minister orders to remove dual nationality holders from sensitive posts

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Friday ordered to remove officials from sensitive posts particularly within the ministry who have dual nationality.

Earlier speaking at the inaugural ceremony of National Centre of Artificial Intelligence in Islamabad, the minister said that artificial intelligence is an important pillar of fourth industrial revolution.

He said that establishment of the centre will bring the country on the world’s map of artificial intelligence. This technology will also create numerous opportunities of job within country.

The federal minister said Pakistan is now being recognised as an emerging economy by renowned financial institutions due to prudent economic policies. However, he stressed that Pakistan needs  to move forward in the fields of science and technology to achieve sustainable development and prosperity.

Mr. Iqbal further said government has chalked out vision 2025 to address the long term challenges and for the promotion of knowledge-based economy.

The minister said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has made Pakistan centre of attention. He said continuity of policies is essential for economic stability.

He said the present government laid the foundation of several initiatives with regard to knowledge revolution, and will establish one university campus in every district.

Ahsan Iqbal said government is committed to empower the people of backward areas of the country to ensure their contribution towards development.

Turning to issue of terrorism, he said the backbone of terrorists has also been broken and they are on run. The government has also overcome the challenge of load shedding in the country, he stated.
