ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday approved formation of Rapid Response Force (RRF) in all the four provinces, ARY News reported.
The PM took this decision while presiding over a meeting on internal security policy in Islamabad. However, it is yet to be known whether FC, Rangers or police personnel would be inducted into the RRF. During a meeting, it was also decided to form intelligence centre under National Counter Terrorism Authority. While the meeting also discussed demands of the Taliban and the list of prisoners provided by them.
The PM also ordered to bring into use Pakistan Protection Ordinance while adopting all such measures.
It may be noted here that many such forces including Quick Response Force and Special Force were constituted in the past for eradication of terrorism. Regrettably formation of different forces didn’t help restore peace across the country.
Experts said it was yet to be seen how much difference the formation of RRF could make.
