Inzamam all set to be named chief selector

Inzamam-ul-Haq will officially take charge as the team’s position after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) makes the announcement. He was offered a contract by the country’s cricket board earlier.

The former Pakistani cricketer had signed a contract to coach with Afghanistan board to coach the team till 2017. He submitted his resignation to the cricketing board after the deal was successful.

Chief Executive Officer of ACB Shafiq Stanikzai said that PCB has always helped the board.

“PCB had demanded to release Inzamam which has been accepted. The decision was made as a goodwill gesture,” Stanikzai said.

He added, “We have no problem if Pakistan needs him more.”

It should be noted that Afghanistan managed to qualify for the Super-10 stage of this year’s World Twenty20 under the coaching of the former cricketer after winning every single game of the qualifying stage.
