In view of booming fourth phase of generation revolution in the arena of industrial development, Pakistani think tank ‘Institute for Policy Reforms’ (IPR) issued a comprehensive report for the amelioration of economic situation in Pakistan.
According to the report, for a sustainable economy, Pakistan should increase the quantity of high-value products in its exports.
The report of IPR suggests the need to focus more on Science and Technology as the textile industry has a major share in exports of Pakistan which is 80% of Pakistan’s total exports and 6% of global exports.
While highlighting the fact that trade of industry-made products in Pakistan is very minimal, the report draws attention to the worn out ways by which our economy is still being and lack of all modern-day techniques in the industrial sector of Pakistan.
The IPR report emphasized that for the growth of economy and manufacturing, S&T policy of IPR should be implemented on all aspects of economy.
Moreover, the policy should also be given due importance on government level. IPR’s S&T policy covers sectors of education, technical training, research and development, specialized technical institutions and a top notch system to supervise and scrutinize these sectors.
