ARY News anchor and Sar-e-Aam host Iqrar-ul-Hasan announced to start a mission to send at least 116 children to school in order to  pay a befitting tribute to the 116 children who lost their lives in the December 16 Army Public School attack.

In a video message on his page and then during his Friday show, Iqar-ul-Hassan maintained that there can be no fitting tribute to the martyrs of the 2014 tragedy than sending children who cannot afford education to school.

The Sar-e-Aam host announced to personally bear the educational expenses of one child and urged others to support his mission.

“The best way to remember APS martyrs on 16th December is to send a child to school… plz join hands with #TeamSareAam. We shall make sure that at least 116 children go to school for the very first time,” He wrote on Twitter.

Soon after the announcement, Iqrar-ul-Hassan received messages of support from renowned celebrities including Nobel Peace Prize winner and education activist Malala Yususfzai who offered to send four children to school and bear all their educational expenses.
