Iran’s Zarif terms meetings with Pakistan’s civil, military leadership as fruitful

ISLAMABAD: Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif has termed his meetings with civilian and military leadership in Pakistan as fruitful.

In his tweet, he emphasized the need for expanding bilateral, regional and global partnership.

The Iranian foreign minister said, “Neighbours are our priority.”

Javad Zarif said it was his eighth trip to Pakistan and he was honored to be the first minister received by the new government.

Earlier in a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Zarif said that Iran wished continued progress and prosperity to the people of Pakistan.

He delivered a message of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and invited PM Imran for the upcoming Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit in Iran, in October 2018.

Both Pakistan and Iran are members of the organization. Iran currently holds the chair of the organization.
