Irfan Siddiqui updates PM Nawaz about talks with the Taliban Committee
ISLAMABAD: Coordinator of the government dialogue committee Irfan Siddiqui called on Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad on Sunday, ARY News reported.
During the meeting with Prime Minister and Interior Minister Irfan Siddiqui briefed them about the latest updates of talks with the Taliban dialogue Committee.
Earlier, Taliban shura has decided to announce ceasefire. According to sources Taliban had also asked government to announce ceasefire.
A meeting between Taliban-nominated committee and government committee for peace talks could be summoned on Monday.
The Taliban shura said government should not resort to any move that may hamper the peace process. Sources said the Taliban demanded that Army should be withdrawn from South Waziristan.
Taliban also demanded that impriosned children, elders and other unarmed persons should be released by the government, sources added.
