Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan had revealed last month that he had been diagnosed with a ‘rare disease’ later identified as neuroendocrine tumor, and is undergoing treatment in the United Kingdom.
While Irrfan is undergoing treatment, speculations about his health continue to pick up on social media, and rumours were rife that the ailing star’s health is deteriorating.
However, his spokesperson released a clarification and rubbished all such reports, asking people to desist from spreading rumours. He also requested fans and media to refrain from treating ‘social media status’ as health updates.
“This latest round of news being spread through social medial in last few days about Irrfan’s health is absolutely false and there’s no truth to it whatsoever. We as his family and friends again request the members of the media to continue their support and the prayers that have come Irrfan’s way.
“However it’s not right to spread rumours through mediums of social media without fact check or any official validation. In the meanwhile once again we request everyone to refrain from picking up social media statuses as affirmative developments on someone’s health,” said statement by Irrfan Khan’s spokesperson.

A few days ago, online reports claimed that the actor’s health was ‘consistently deteriorating’. An Indian journalist Umair Sandhu citing family sources had tweeted that Irrfan’s cancer was in its final stage.
Amidst all the assumptions floating on the internet, some even stated that Irrfan Khan is taking Ayurvedic treatment and even mentioned him to be consulting a known physician. Irrfan Khan’s spokesperson had quashed all such reports and rendered them as false.

Soon after Irrfan Khan made a startling revelation about his health, it was said that filmmakers wanted to postpone the release of his upcoming film Blackmail The movie co-starring Kirti Kulhari and Arunoday Singh was released as scheduled and made decent business at the box office.
Irrfan Khan’s film with Deepika Padukone which was to be helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj has been rescheduled. Bhardwaj said that they will wait till the ‘warrior returns as a winner’ than go for recasting the movie.
