Chairing a briefing session to review overall public debt situation in the country, Ishaq Dar issued instruction for establishment of an IT based data bank containing inputs from State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Economic Affairs Division (EAD) and Finance Division for better debt management.
According to press release issued by Finance Ministry of Pakistan, the Minister reviewed overall public debt situation in the country.
During the session, the present challenges and the future strategy regarding public debt were discussed. The meeting also had detailed discussion on ways and means for reducing the debt to GDP ratio as well as the cost of debt retirement.
