LAHORE: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain advised to take effective and immediate measures to curb terrorism otherwise it will badly harm the country, ARY News reported.
While addressing to ‘Sufiya-e-Kiram Conference’ via telephonic call on Sunday, Altaf Hussain said Pakistan is passing through a crucial phase and terrorism is the biggest threat to the country.
“Islamic Shariah doesn’t allow anyone to bombard temples and worshiping places”, he added.
MQM Chief said the meaning of Islam is ‘peace’ and terrorism is just opposite to peace.
He prayed that may Allah bless us with enough resources so that we counter Taliban along with Army.
Altaf Hussain expressed hope for such circumstances that will allow him to come back to Pakistan.
Altaf Hussain thanked Sufi saints, who reached Lahore from distant areas to attend the conference.
The motive of organizing ‘Sufiya-e-Kiram Conference’ is to confront religious extremism and to promote the real message of Islam and teachings of Sufis and Saints who promoted Islam in the Indian Sub-Continent through love, exemplary character and their love and respect for the humanity, said Altaf Hussain.
According to Dr. Farooq Sattar “there isn’t any political agenda behind the conference rather it is to discuss the agenda of Pakistan and the conference organized to reflect the views of different sects and their problems.”
