Islamabad on red alert, heavy security covers Constitution Avenue

ISLAMABAD: The capital city administration has beefed up security in the red zone and deployed extra contingent of law enforcers to cope with any untoward incident, ARY News reported Thursday.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri had warned of announcing his final call of action today as he termed the day a ‘Day of Revolution’. The PAT chief said he would deliver a final address at the sit-in venue outside Parliament House.

Police have started evacuating cars from Constitution Avenue areas as part of a security measure. Roads leading to Secretariat Chowk have been sealed by the law enforcers. Media is only allowed to go inside without their vehicles out.

Acting IG Islamabad Khalid Khattak and senior police officials visited the red zone and inspected security arrangements.
