There isn't any war objectives behind Saudi Arabia's aid: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia has given Pakistan $1.50 billion for economic progress rather for any war objectives.

Talking to ARY News, Ishaq Dar advised opposition leaders to avoid doing politics over measures that are being taken by the government for the betterment of economy.

“Irresponsible statements from opposition leader Khurshid Shah and some others is creating a negative impression on friendly countries”, he added.

The Minister said this is not the first time that Saudi Arabia helped Pakistan as they facilitate us before at the time of Atomic explosion by supplying oil on deferred payments. He said the same facility was also enjoyed by the government of Gen. Rtd. Pervaiz Musharraf.

Ishaq Dar further informed that U.S. will release $400 million to Pakistan till April, the amount expensed in the war against terrorism while $1.60 billion will be received by Pakistan for Coalition Support Fund.
