It is better to hold LG election in mid of Jan, says Sattar
KARACHI: Member National Assembly (MNA) and leader Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr. Farooq Sattar has said no party wants to delay local government elections for an infinite time period but it is better to held it in the middle of January, ARY News reported.
While talking to media at Jinnah International Airport on Thursday, Farooq Sattar said that every party has declared that holding election on November 27 is not possible.
“Arrangements for elections including preparation of voter lists, nominations, delimitations and scrutiny are very difficult in such short interval of time”, he added.
MQM leader said that asking for delay in elections isn’t the result of negative intention rather it’s about the arrangements of it.
He appealed that ECP should revise the date seeking advises from all parties of the province.
Farooq Sattar said that interlining drone attacks with the negotiations of Taliban is a conspiracy to sabotage it.
About negotiation he said that holding talks with the murderer of around 48,000 people is just like forgiving them but it is important to decide that with whom the peace talks is to be held.
Farooq Sattar said that we hadn’t invited Interior Minister Chaudary Nisar to visit party head quarter nine-zero but we will give him warm welcome if he visits our head quarter.
