Italy: Pakistani detained for calling nephew named Osama

Inquiring the well-being of a nephew named Osama became crime for a Pakistani national. It is now disclosed that eight missing Pakistanis in Italy, are currently under custody on suspicion of terrorism.

All these hail from district Swabi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.

Member of the KP Assembly from Swabi, Abdul Karim said that the arrested Pakistani nationals are innocent and demanded the federal government to make efforts for their release.

Italian police had apprehended these Pakistanis on April 24.

Police said that they were involved in a blast in Peshawar’s Meena Bazar back in October 2009.

They were also accused of planning an attack on Vatican City.
