Jahangir calls for 'judicial inquiry' over Nine Zero raid

LAHORE: Former President of Supreme Court Bar Council Asma Jahangir has said that a judicial inquiry should be held over Rangers raid on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine Zero at Azizabad in Karachi, ARY News reports on Friday.

A MQM worker was killed and several party activists were taken into custody when Rangers conducted raid at the party’s headquarters in Azizabad on Wednesday morning.

Asma Jahangir, speaking to media at Lahore High Court (LHC) said that judicial investigation of the incident should be held to clarify the matter.

“It cannot be said right now that who is right or wrong”, Jahangir said.

“A political party expressed its pleasure over the raid at MQM headquarters but they should not forget that their number might be next”, she added.

The renowned lawyer stated that action should also be taken against the militant wings waging war in the name of religion.
